My next adventure: Thailand/Malaysia/Singapore – July 2026

Day 1 (Malaysia) – Wheelchair Accessible Transportation

To provide a little context, before entering Malaysia, one had spent around 48 hours in Phuket International Airport due to AirAsia refusing to carry Superbunny on the grounds that the chair was 20kg over the specified limit. From asking a few Thai contacts regarding the matter, it seems that leeway is usually given, however Phuket had other ideas. This meant that one had to go away, dismantle the chair and leave the wheelchair batteries in Phuket before flying to Kuala Lumpur.

Akin to Thailand, there are several companies offering wheelchair accessible transportation throughout Malaysia. For this trip, one chose Love On Wheels who possess a van with a tailgate…

As one mentioned, Superbunnys batteries had to be ditched in Phuket. After explaining the situation to Love On Wheels, they kindly sourced the correct ones before picking up from KL International Airport.
