My next adventure: Thailand/Malaysia/Singapore – July 2026

Bangkok – July 2026

Day 3 (Bangkok) – Mahanakorn SkyWalk

Nothing beats seeing a city from high above which is what Mahanakorn enables one to do. With its wheelchair accessible SkyWalk, one can marvel at the city of Bangkok below. Before we delve further, it is worth noting that foreigners will need to show passports when purchasing tickets. In addition, as of 2026, security is quite tight hence it is not uncommon for guards to take photos of ones wheelchair!

Now, if we dismiss the ‘immersive experience’, there are three elements to the SkyWalk; an indoor observations deck located on the 74th floor, an outdoor observations deck located on the 78th floor in addition to ‘The Peak’. Both the indoor and outdoor observation decks are wheelchair accessible, however it is not possible to access ‘The Peak’ due to stairs.

As one would expect from an observation tower, the indoor portion provides 360 degree panoramic views over the city of Bangkok plus a few perks…

One must then return to the elevator to access the outdoor portion. This area also contains a ‘Glass Tray’ which is not wheelchair accessible. However, one can still enjoy drinks etc…

This wheelchair accessible attraction is, perhaps overlooked by many, however it was a fitting end to ones visit to Bangkok.

Now let’s go on an adventure…

Day 1.5 (Bangkok) – Tinidee Trendy Khaosan Hotel

Known as one of the worlds ‘megacities’, Bangkok is home to a plethora of wheelchair accessible hotels whether it be international or home grown chains. For this reason, it allows one to book a more ‘budget friendly’ yet accessible hotel. Located in the Khaosan district of Bangkok, the Tinidee Trendy Hotel is conveniently situated a mere 25-30 minute walk from sights such as The Grand Palace. It is worth noting that drop kerbs have recently been installed enabling one to cross the AH123 without issue.

Accessibility wise, the room contains ample room for wheelchairs plus a wet room with a shower seat (albeit a little small), perfect for those who wish to visit the city on a budget…

One caveat, however is that Khaosan is named as one of the ‘back packer’ districts of Bangkok hence the parties continue late into the night!

Day 1 (Bangkok) – Wheelchair Accessible Transportation

Wheelchair Accessible Transportation in Bangkok is not uncommon with several operators providing this service. For the next few days (before heading down to Hua Hin courtesy of Thai Railways), one will be using an accessible vehicle provided by Wheelchair Holidays Thailand to navigate Bangkok and Ayutthaya. Akin to many accessible vehicles, a tail lift is provided with ample space for luggage, wheelchairs etc…

It is worth noting that Wheelchair Holidays Thailand also offer tailored tours nationwide if one wishes for a organised trip rather than DIY! Also, on a personal note, the company has been very accommodative of ones ever changing and last minute plans…
